So I am going to try to do another Photo 52 Project, where I (as part of a group) take a photo a week based on a specific topic. This week is week 1, and our subject is time, so here are some of my musings on time.
Time is the great thief, if we do not mind time it will slowly take everything away from us. As we grow older it will take our minds, our youthful skin, even our teeth and hearing. We are always seeking ways to slow down time, but the only real way to slow down time is to enjoy each day to the fullest so that we have the memories. take lots of photos so that when time starts to steal those memories from our minds we will have the photos to help us remember. Time will steal anything from us that we don’t tend to, when we don’t take care of our personal belongings time will take them from us, things rust and rot away when we don’t take care of them…. Time takes them…. when we take care of them we slow down what time does to them when time tries to steal them.
We can watch time pass and steal from us, or we can enjoy time and make the most of the time that we have. Enjoy our family, and time with our family, learn to not let so many things make us mad or stressed and learn how to better deal with the bumps in the road. Time will continue to tick by one second, minute, hour, day at a time. Rust is a great example of time passing, it does not even take a long time for rust to appear, just a bit of moisture and air on some metal and you will see time take it’s hold quickly and produce rust on an object.
I like spending my time looking at things that are normally overlooked, most people see a rusty can sitting around and usually just think to throw it away, but time goes into every part of that can, the contents usually a food product took time to grow, harvest, procure for the use in the product in the can, then there was time put into the can it’s self, they had to mine for the metals to make the can, melt it down and form the can…. then there is the time that it took to create the machines that do all of the work for us to make, fill, and seal the can before it spends time in the factory waiting to be picked up, time spent traveling to it’s destination. It then has to wait to be put on the shelves and wait for someone to purchase it, then sits on your shelves at home waiting for you to use it. Time is Everything.
These are my ramblings on Time, The great thief in our lives, but if we tend to our lives and our belongings we may be able to keep time at bay for a bit longer.
